Scrolling through social media I come across pictures, both of men and woman (boys and girls, etc etc), who look absolutely gorgeous/handsome, or perfectly fine, striking themselves down and calling themselves “ugly” or “hideous” or some negative comment that denies their evident beauty and all I can think of iswhy? It’s ridiculously obvious that you look like a piece of art, why the negativity towards yourselves?? And then I scroll through the comments and replies. I see people trying to compliment them and bring their spirits up in reassurance of the fact that they are wrong about themselves, only to see these beautiful people, rebutting with denial and striking down the other’s attempt to tell them otherwise. This goes on a constant loop. Why do you people do that? Is it because you love the constant showering of affection and comments towards your appearance? Is it a mental thing? Is it a popularity thing? Why? I’m sure you sit at home taking a shit ton of selfies thinking you look “fine as hell” and all other things you might say about yourselves. But when it comes to posting it online you get degrading and say things like “ew wtf i look ugly” or “omg i look so gross” “excuse my face” blah blah blah blah.STOP DOING THAT. I am trying to give you a compliment. I had no intention of sitting on my ass all day battling with you about the way you look and trying to tell you that you look absolutely amazing only for you to constantly shoot it back down. If you don’t like the way you look, don’t post it on the fucking internet. Where MILLIONS of people can see this said picture.
